About

The Mississippi Human Rights Report is the work of author, activist, and Jackson native Tom Head.  It is not a nonprofit organization, and it is not affiliated with any nonprofit organization.  The Report does not accept donations.

The Report represents a three-pronged strategy to promote human rights in Mississippi:

  1. Highlight specific incidents, issues, or news stories relevant to human rights.
  2. Educate readers about constructive opportunities for social change.
  3. Provide links for further research on the relevant topic.

If there is a story that you would like to see the Report cover, you can send an email to tom.head@mississippihumanrightsreport.net.

The Mississippi Human Rights Report logo is the work of Jackson graphic designer Darren Schwindaman, and the site is hosted by the Jackson-based hosting service Zen Creative.

    Tom:

I direct a criminal justice reform organization called Friends of Justice. I am currently researching the Curtis Flowers case in Winona and was shocked to learn about Lydia Chassaniol’s address to the CCC. Any idea why the Clarion-Ledger hasn’t picked up on that story? Also, can you give me the name of the best person at the Ledger to complain to about it?
